Vestaburg Overwhelms Fulton with Relentless Defense, Rebounding in 56–34 Road Win Vestaburg’s boys varsity basketball team delivered a statement performance Tuesday night, smothering Fulton with tough, disciplined defense and a relentless rebounding effort in a convincing 56–34 road victory. The win improved the Wolverines to 4–1 overall and 3–0 in league play, continuing a strong start to the season. From the opening tip, Vestaburg set the tone with energy and physicality, jumping out to a 21–10 lead after the first quarter. The Wolverines’ pressure defense forced turnovers early and often, turning defense into offense and never allowing Fulton to find a rhythm. Fulton battled back in the second quarter, edging Vestaburg 11–9, but the visitors maintained control heading into halftime. Any hopes of a momentum swing were quickly erased after the break, as Vestaburg clamped down defensively, holding Fulton to just eight points in the third quarter. The Wolverines then closed the game with authority, erupting for 21 points in the fourth while allowing only five. Vestaburg’s defensive dominance told the story. The Wolverines forced 17 Fulton turnovers, recorded 13 steals, and collected 13 deflections, disrupting passing lanes and contesting nearly every shot. Brehm Warczinsky led all scorers with a game-high 27 points, adding five rebounds and three steals in a dominant all-around performance. Lucas Warczinsky filled the stat sheet with 15 points, four rebounds, five assists, and an impressive seven steals, igniting fast breaks and setting the tempo. Jansen Scholer had a huge 14 points and three rebounds, while Kofee Arntz controlled the glass with a team-high 10 rebounds, along with three assists and two blocks, anchoring the interior on both ends of the floor. Kolton Kilmer contributed with four rebounds and two assists, doing the little things that don’t always show up in the scorebook. In the end, it was a complete team performance defined by unbelievable effort, toughness, and unselfish play. Vestaburg left no doubt on the road, proving that when defense and rebounding travel, wins often follow.
