VESTABURG — The Vestaburg Wolverines showed grit and composure down the stretch Tuesday night, edging the St. Louis Sharks 50–47 in a tightly contested girls basketball matchup that stayed up for grabs until the final buzzer. The game featured multiple lead changes and physical play throughout, but Vestaburg’s resilience proved to be the difference. Lily Johnston delivered a standout performance, taking control in key moments and finishing with a game-high 26 points to go along with 5 rebounds, 7 assists, 3 steals, and 4 blocks. Her all-around effort anchored the Wolverines on both ends of the floor. Jessica Stouten contributed 7 points and was a force on the glass with 9 rebounds, adding 3 steals. Callie Bills chipped in 7 points, while Kaydence Bills added 6 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 blocks to bolster Vestaburg’s interior defense. Jaiden Anderson finished with 4 points and 4 rebounds. Though the stat line didn’t fully capture her impact, Ryanna Collar provided valuable minutes off the bench, recording 2 assists and a rebound while bringing relentless energy on defense. With the win, Vestaburg improves to 7–5 on the season, continuing to build momentum as they head into the heart of their schedule.
