VHS gutted out a hard-fought 64–52 non-conference win over Tri County Area on February 9 in a physical, grind-it-out battle that tested depth and toughness. With foul trouble limiting rotations throughout the night, VHS responded by playing strong, big, and connected on both ends of the floor. VHS set the tone early, taking a 21–14 lead after the first quarter and carrying a 38–25 advantage into halftime. Tri County Area made a strong push in the third quarter, but VHS answered with defensive intensity and poise in the fourth to close out the win. Brehm Warczinsky led the way with 28 points, knocking down four three-pointers while adding five rebounds and two steals. In the process, Warczinsky became just the second male player in school history to reach the 1,000-point milestone, a major accomplishment. Lucas Warczinsky followed with 14 points, nine rebounds, five assists, and two steals, impacting the game in every phase. Jansen Scholer added 11 points, four assists, and five steals, setting the tone defensively, while Kofee Arntz controlled the glass with 10 rebounds and added five assists. Jackson Kilmer and Walker Arntz played huge minutes and battled throughout the night, providing physicality and effort when foul trouble challenged the rotation. It wasn’t always pretty, but it was tough, resilient basketball—and VHS found a way to earn a gritty non-conference win.
