MORLEY, MI — In a thrilling showdown at the Morley-Stanwood Invitational, the Vestaburg Girls Varsity Cross Country team pulled off a stunning upset, edging out Lakeview by a single point to claim the team title — despite entering the meet as 14-point underdogs according to race simulations. The Wolverines scored 35 points, narrowly defeating Lakeview’s 36, while host school Morley-Stanwood finished third with 52. Several teams, including Montabella, GR Union, White Cloud, and CMHC, competed but did not field enough runners to score. 🔥 Jessica Stouten Claims First Career Win The highlight of the meet came from Jessica Stouten, who surged to victory with a time of 22:57, earning 1st place and her first career XC win.
